Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, with the Rev. Brett Brauer of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Watertown American Legion Post #189. A private burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
Percy Thomas was born in Watertown on March 26, 1933, son of Percy and Lydia (Wille) Wade. He was a 1951 graduate of Watertown High School. Percy was a three year member of the Watertown National Guard-Red Arrow Division and served two years in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed as a machinist-tool setter for Waukesha Engine Dresser Industries for over 40 years.
Percy was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #189 and loved hunting, fishing and bowling.
Survivors include a sister, Nancy (Merlyn) Voss of Lodi; two brothers, James (Violet) Wade of Watertown and David Wade of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wade of Waukesha and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gene and Lee Wade.
