Margaret W. Stueber, age 95 of Watertown, formerly of Clyman, died on Sunday evening December 28, 2014 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
Margaret Wilhelmine Stelter was born on February 2, 1919 in White Creek, the daughter of Rev. B.J.E. and Wilhelmine (Burke) Stelter. On August 18, 1944 she married Paul H. Stueber at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman. There they lived, worked, and raised a family. Margaret was instrumental in the operation of Stueber’s Store in Clyman until its closing in 1989. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in the choir, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Ladies Aid, the Quilters, and Bethesda Volunteering. Margaret enjoyed fishing and was an avid Brewer, Green Bay Packer and Badger fan.
Margaret is survived by her children; Susan and Roger Schroeder of West Bend, Kitty Stueber of Watertown, Jim and Marcia Stueber of West Saint Paul, MN, Cheryl and LaVern Brigowatz of DeForest, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, a brother, Rev. Ed (Lavon) Stelter of Two Rivers, a sister-in-law Rosalyn Wegner of Oconomowoc, nieces, nephews and good friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul on November 17, 1994, her son John P. Stueber on December 11, 2012, her sister, Dorothy Stelter, five brothers, Paul (Margaret) Stelter, Martin (Myrtle) Stelter, Eric Stelter, Rev. Herbert (Gloria) Stelter and Ronald Stelter, two sisters-in-law, Frieda Stueber and Ruth (Rev. Edward) Krueger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman with Rev. Michael Schempf officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clyman. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, the Marquardt Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
