Marion H. Griebenow, 97, of Watertown, passed away on January 1, 2020 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Ixonia with Rev. Joel Free officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to the church or to Rainbow Hospice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Marion Helen Oestreich was born on October 1, 1922 in Concord to Bruno and Alma (nee Degner) Oestreich. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Watertown. Marion was a 1939 graduate of Watertown High School. She worked in a defense plant in Milwaukee during WWII. On May 8, 1948 she married Walter Griebenow at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Watertown. Marion and her husband farmed in the Ashippun area for eight years, before moving to their current farm in Watertown. Marion worked at Watertown Memorial Hospital in the dietary department for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Ixonia and the ladies aid. She was also a member of the Wethonkitha Auxiliary, VFW #3709 Ladies Auxiliary in Watertown, and a former member of the Ixonia Senior Citizens.
Marion is survived by her son Glenn (Connie) Griebenow of Watertown; a daughter Gail (Rev. Dr. Elton) Stroh of Sun Prairie; grandchildren: Jodie (Charles) Starck, Lisa Chiles, Kristi Corey, John (Rachel) Stroh, Andrea (Brett) Valerio, Alyson (fiancť Scott Shackley) Parker, Dallas (Carla) Parker; 19 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter on July 14, 2004, and a brother Earl Oestreich.
