A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the church or the local humane society.
Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown or at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Nancy Arlene Otto was born on January 19, 1932 in Watertown to Walter and Alyce (Wolf) Gobeli. She graduated from Waupun High School in 1949. On December 8, 1951 she married Robert J. Otto at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. For over 20 years she worked for Dr. Louis Nowak in Watertown as a medical assistant. Her and her husband later moved to Mercer, WI. In Iron County she worked as a home health caregiver.
Nancy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. She was a Mercer Lioness, and loved wildlife, especially wolves. She enjoyed doing crafts and giving to the humane society.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters: Nina (David) Sterwald and Jodi (Scott) Erdmann both of Watertown; two grandchildren: Carissa (Jason) Sterwald Finch, and Kevin Erdmann; one great-grandchild Madelynn Nina Finch; two sisters: Nina TeBeest of Fox Lake and Beverly Kohrt of Horicon; one sister-in-law Aggie Gobeli of Burlington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Craig on November 29, 1968; her husband Robert on January 15, 2001; one brother Kenneth “Bud” Gobeli and a sister Carol Schwenkner.
