Ruth Irene Hoefs was born on July 6, 1927 in Watertown, the daughter of Walter and Irene (nee Dobbratz) Hoefs. On October 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard “Chip” Seeber. Chip preceded her in death on August 7, 2005. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown.
In her earlier years, Ruth was employed at Village Blacksmith in Watertown and Bethesda Lutheran Home. She was an excellent cook and baker who enjoyed gardening, time spent at the lake cottage, fishing, an occasional casino trip with Chip, Skippo, watching her Badgers and Packers and her beloved dog, Minnie. Ruth’s main focus was her family. She never ended a sentence without saying “thank you”. As her health declined, her mantra became “tomorrow will be better.”
Survivors include children Susan (Randy) Blasing, Watertown, Christine (Richard) Wendorf, Rochelle, Illinois, Michael (Melanie) Seeber, Hortonville and Nancy (Jim) Foltz, Watertown; grandchildren Scott (fiancée Melissa Sellnow) Blasing, Eric (Leah) Blasing, Brian (Kim) Wendorf, Kari (Art) Ortega, Matthew (Tasha) Wendorf, Anne (Beto) Yanez-Seeber, Jake and Kate Seeber, Tanya (Jeff) Sinkler, Brad (Theresia) Foltz and Lisa (Mike) Kolpack; 20 great grandchildren; sisters Carol (Fred) Busler, Anita (Jerry) Caine and Irene Paulson; sister-in-law Betty (Bob) Zimmerman; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Minnie.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lorraine and Bill Krueger and brother-in-law Ken Finder.
Ruth’s family wishes to thank Marquardt Hospice, especially Maria, Jane, Deb and Debbie, for Mom’s loving care.
