Funeral services for Alma will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, with the Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Neosho.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Alma Bertha Anna Goecks was born in the town of Hustisford on July 29, 1920, daughter of Karl “Charles” and Martha (Schuett) Goecks. On May 4, 1940 she married Harold Schultz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Harold preceded her in death on March 11, 1996.
Alma attended night classes at Watertown High School, learning crocheting, first aid, typing and sewing.
She was a house wife and helped farm. Alma also had been employed at Carnation Co. in Oconomowoc for eight years, Swagger Boxspring in Jefferson and Seamen Anwell in Ixonia until it closed.
Being very musically talented, she played a pump organ, concertina, Hawaiian guitar, and the E-flat saxophone in the Hartford American Legion Band. She also sang in the St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church choir for 14 ½ years.
Alma was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun, where she taught Sunday school.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Thoma of Kiel; her granddaughters, Sheri (Roger) Jones of Dunedin, FL; Laura Harman of Pace, FL; LeAnna (Alan) Wilson of Oxford; Janet (Al) Gallas of Cottage Grove, MN; Janeen Huchel of North Carolina; Kristine (Mike) Stephany of Kiel; Rose (Mike) Blanchard of Manitowoc; nineteen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Alma was further preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara, in infancy; her son-in-law, Eugene Thoma; a sister, Elda Grosnick and two brothers, Ervin and Elmer Goecks.
