Franklin A. Braunschweig, age 91 of Neosho, passed away on Friday January 13, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at 6 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun, with Rev. Robert F. Thays officiating. Burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 3pm – 5:30 pm. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Franklin Albert Braunschweig was born on May 16, 1925 in Lebanon, the son of Erwin and Minka (Pankow) Braunschweig. On November 28, 1948 he married Alice Bartel at Cross Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Alice preceded him in death on Saturday October 16, 2004. Frank was engaged in dairy farming most of his life, and was also a truck driver, hauling milk for Specialty Cheese, formerly Heim Cheese Co. in Reeseville for 50 years. Franklin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun. He was a former member of Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club and enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and trapping on the family farm. He especially enjoyed turkey hunting during his later years. He liked playing sheepshead and loved spending time with his family. He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan and a backer of the Neosho Rockets.

Franklin is survived by five children; Wesley (Rosemary) Braunschweig of Neosho, Linda Braunschweig of Oconomowoc, Kathleen Hetzel of Hartford, Mavis (Gary) Pusch of Rubicon and Clyde (Karen) Braunschweig of Neosho, fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren, a sister, Erla (William) Newbecker of Oconomowoc, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Frank was also preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Jeffrey Hetzel and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Braunschweig.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rainbow Hospice for the loving care they received.
