Robert “Bob” G. Zimmerman, age 88, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Miroslaw Szynal officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Family and friends may gather at Hafemeister Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Robert George Zimmerman was born October 1, 1929 in Beaver Dam, the son of John and Viola (nee Kluckaczewski) Zimmerman. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School before moving to Watertown with his parents in 1945. He joined the Army Wisconsin National Guard, serving in the Korean War from 1952-1953. He met the love of his life in 1953. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Seeber on August 7, 1954 at St. Bernard’s Church in Watertown. In 1958, the family moved to Illinois where Bob was employed as a carpenter, where they then lived for 11 years. In 1969, the family returned to Wisconsin and Bob started his own remodeling business, and then owned Bob’s Car Wash. He retired in 1989. Bob was a member of AMVETS, serving as Commander for 1 year, American Legion, and VFW Post 3709. Bob also belonged to the Watertown Boat Club, Silver Creek Snowmobile Club, and Moose Lodge. Bob loved watching old western shows and movies, playing card games like Solitaire, Euchre and Sheepshead, salmon fishing, and enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Zimmerman; children, Anne (Joe) Carper, Bob (Liz) Zimmerman, Joan (Tony) Thompson, and Lynn (Steve) Kaminski; grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Alex, and Nick; brothers Don (Jean) Zimmerman and Dick Zimmerman; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jean Zimmerman
The family would like to thank Watertown Regional Medical Center, Dycora Transitional Living, and Rainbow Hospice for the compassionate care Bob received.
