James Lee Buske was born on July 21, 1953 in Oconomowoc, the son of Edwin and Joan (nee Schellin) Buske. He was a 1971 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. On October 13, 1974 he married Cheryl Abel at Christ Lutheran Church in Pewaukee. He had been employed at Jefferson County Farmco Cooperative in Ixonia for 42 years and was joyfully counting down the days to his upcoming retirement. Jim was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Over the years he faithfully served St. Paul’s while on the School Board, Trustee, President and Elder roles. He loved fishing at the cabin, birdwatching and keeping a close eye on the local farm fields. He was a “Jack of all trades” who loved tinkering around the house and at work while displaying his good Christian work ethic. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheri Buske of Watertown; sons, Rev. James G. (Terry) Buske of Milwaukee, Bradley Buske of Watertown and Paul (Hannah) Buske of De Pere; grandchildren, Zoe, Micah, Anastasia, Judah, Natalie and Tyler Buske; siblings, Cynthia (Kevin) Raether, Rodney (Beth) Buske and John (Queena) Buske as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the medical staff that assisted in his care.
