Harvey H. Kulke, age 81, of Lebanon passed away on Saturday January 28, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday February 2, 2012 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 301 Clark St. in Watertown, with the Reverends Anthony Schultz and Mark Gartner officiating. Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4-7 pm and from Noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials, if desired may be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or to any of God’s works. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements. Harvey Henry Rudolph Kulke was born on May 7, 1930 in the Town of Lebanon the son of Louis and Louisa (Seefeldt) Kulke. On July 22, 1950 he married the former Lorraine Christian at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Harvey and Lorraine purchased his grandparents farm and raised four children by farming and owning his own carpentry repair business. Harvey had been employed as the Town Constable of Lebanon for twenty-five years. He had also been employed by the Hustisford High School, the Universal Co-op of Lebanon and the Village of Clyman. Harvey was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. He was a member of the Lebanon Fire Department and competed in face to face water fighting at the annual picnics. Harvey had been a member of the Lebanon Lions Club; the Lebanon Sportsman’s Club and he had held various church positions. Harvey loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, raising pheasants, playing cards, gardening, listening to Hartford radio station WTKM, and his dogs.
Harvey is survived by his three children, Kathleen (Jack) Ewert, Mark (Sharon) Kulke of Lebanon and Julie (Shawn Krueger) Kulke of Watertown, a brother Lester (Beverly) Kulke of Gilman, four grandchildren, Cory (Linda) Ewert, Keith (Tanya) Ewert, Carrie (Reed) Peplinski and Erik Kulke, nine great-grandchildren, Jordan Ewert, Courtney, Cassidy and Kelsey Ewert, Julia, Alisha, Blake and Austin Peplinski and Melissa (Nate) Parks, a great-great grandson, Drake Parks, other relatives and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorraine on December 20, 2008, a son Kevin on September 7, 1985 and brothers, Hilbert, Raymond, Vilas and Franklin, a sister Lorraine Stark and three siblings in childhood.
