Kenneth F. Beyer, age 88, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, at Marquardt Health Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with military graveside rites performed by the Watertown American Legion Post #189 will take place at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to; Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Moncks Corner, SC. Kenneth Francis Beyer was born on November 9, 1927 in Lake Mills, the son of Carl F. and Lydia (nee Albrecht) Beyer. He was a 1945 graduate of Watertown High School and he attended one year at the University of Wis. Madison. Ken served in the United States Navy during WWII and was Company Commander of the Army National Guard units in Jefferson and later in Watertown. On September 8, 1951, he married Elaine Hensler at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Ken owned and operated Keck Furniture in Watertown. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Watertown American Legion Post #189. Ken was a former member and Past President of the Watertown Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition. He had also a member of the Watertown Central Business Association and the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Ken is survived by his wife, Elaine of Watertown; two children, Lyn (Lawrence) Quinn; Tom (Joan) Beyer, all of Watertown; eight grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Quinn; Pastor Jonathan (Katie) Quinn; Matthew (Nicole) Beyer; Andrew (Morgan) Beyer; Alexander Beyer; Ryan Beyer; William Beyer; Hannah Beyer as well as six great-grandchildren, Ella Quinn; Zoe Quinn; Mitchell Quinn; Rowyn Quinn; Conor Quinn and Cecilia Quinn, three sisters-in-law; Marlene Beyer of Watertown, Kathleen Beyer of Jefferson and Dorothy Beyer of Watertown, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lydia; his siblings; Shirley (Ray) Herman, Carl F. “Bud” Beyer; Arline (Earle) Kaercher, Otis Beyer, Richard “Butch” Beyer and Bernice “Patsy” (Randy) Bauer.
The family would like to thank Marquardt Hospice for the wonderful care that Ken received.
