Carol J. Witte, age 77, of Johnson Creek, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington with Rev. Paul Burk officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Carol Jean Seavert was born on March 14, 1938 in Farmington, the daughter of Fredrick and Wyanda (nee Schloesser) Seavert. On April 26, 1957, she married Merlin Witte in Rockford, Illinois. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington. Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to play cards and enjoyed trips to the casino to play slots and bingo.
Carol is survived by her husband, Merlin of Johnson Creek; three children, Melody (Greg) Schultz of Watertown; Bonny (Mike) Daniel of Pipersville; Denise (Scott Schwandt) Witte of Madison; six grandchildren, Trevor (Amanda) Ramseier and their children, Rhody and Ryker; Brady (Caitlyn) Ramseier; Jared (Amanda Remington) Epker; Kyle (Courtney Buss) Epker; Allison Epker and Jake (Meghan) Schultz and their children, Morgan and Easton. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Joyce Seavert, Diana Witte, Cheryl Schlitz; brothers-in-law, Randy Raether; Bob Raether; Kenny (Mary Kay) Raether as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carol was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Wyanda; stepfather, Roy Klug; brothers, Fredrick Seavert and Roger Seavert; sisters-in-law, Donna Seavert and Betty Raether as well as a brother-in-law, Clifford Witte.
