The funeral service for Bernice will be held on Monday, February 13th, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, with the Rev. John Boehringer officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, in Bernice’s name, may be given to the church, Zinzendorf Hall or to Marquardt Hospice.
Bernice Martha Anna was born in Concord on August 27, 1921, daughter of Albert and Meta (Geschke) Fink
She attended the Watertown Vocational School and had been employed at the former Mid-State Shoe Company for 26 years. She had also been employed at Hamlin Corporation in Lake Mills and at Bethesda Lutheran Homes in Watertown.
Bernice was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir. She was also a former member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Concord.
Bernice tended to the needs of immediate family members, other relatives and for numerous other people. In her younger years, she loved to travel.
Survivors include a niece, Joyce (Richard) Deschner of Delevan; her nephews, Jim Kaliebe and John (Barbara) Kaliebe, both of Watertown; a great nephew, Micah Deschner of Delevan, other relatives and friends.
Bernice was the last member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Jane Fink; her sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Walter Kaliebe; a brother, Harvey Fink and a niece, Susan Fink.
The family would like to thank the staff at Zinzendorf Hall for the compassionate care Bernice received for the past three years and Marquardt Hospice for the last two days of her life.
Those who live in the Lord, never see each other for the last time.
