Donald H. Weisensel, 93 of Watertown, passed away on Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 at Clearview in Juneau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 at 11 am at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. Burial will be at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Donald Henry Weisensel was born on September 22, 1923 in Clyman the son of Ignatius and Eleanora (Ruffies) Weisensel. Don was a veteran with the US Army achieving the rank of Master Sargent. On October 14, 1950 he married Vernette Thom in Milwaukee. He owned and operated Don Weisensel General Contractors in Watertown for many years. He was an active member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown and the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight. Don was involved in scouting for many years and served as Scout Leader, Scout Master and District Leader for Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed deer hunting. He enjoyed camping with his family and was a member of Watertown Campers Association for many years. He enjoyed feeding and watching birds and other wildlife

Don is survived by his wife Vernette of Watertown, seven children; Donna (Leo) Robinson of Red Granite, Gerard “Jerry” (Barb) Weisensel of Madison, Annette (John) Condron of Sun Prairie, Vincent Weisensel, Brian Weisensel, Paul Weisensel and Blasé (Brenda) Weisensel all of Watertown, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three brothers; Ignatius “Pete” Weisensel of Columbus, Arnold (Yvonne) Weisensel of Watertown and Adrian (Joan) Weisensel of Iron Ridge, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers.
