Mildred J. Schroeder was born in Farmington on November 24, 1929, daughter of Alvin and Frieda (Klug) Schroeder. She attended Sunny View Grade School in Farmington and was a 1946 Graduate of Johnson Creek High School.
On April 15, 1950, she married Lester W. Reichert at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown. Lester preceded her in death on January 13, 2010.
She served as office manager for Equity Livestock upon its opening and for many years afterward. Mildred & Lester raised veal calves and owned & operated Triple R Feeders in Johnson Creek.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek, the Johnson Creek Historical Society and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Mildred loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren and looked forward to holidays and family events. She also enjoyed countryside rides, gardening, cooking, crafts & crocheting. She was very handy and made many things for her grandchildren. Mildred and Les loved traveling and visited nearly all 50 states, including Alaska. They had wintered in the Rio Grande Valley at Mission, Texas.
Survivors include her two sons, James (Cheryl) Reichert, John (Suzanne) Reichert; two daughters, Debra (Steven) Brown and Jone (Allen) Walechka, all of Johnson Creek; 14 grandchildren, Matthew (Lori) Reichert, Janice (Robert) Demoe, Andrew (Nikki) Reichert, Katherine (Chad) DeSelle, Joshua Brown, Nicholas (Dawn) Brown, Aaron, Ethan, Evan, Hayden Walechka, Allison, Jacob, Emma Jo, and Justin Reichert; 14 great grandchildren, Ean & Laben,Vaughn and Cameron Reichert, Eli and Micah DeMoe, Codee, Michaela, Mya, Josephine and Blake Brown, Ella, Madeline and Isabelle DeSelle; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Ed) Kramer and Irene Reichert, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Schroeder and a sister, Joyce (Schroeder) Timmel.
Mildred was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22nd at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek with the Rev. Matthew Smith-Laubenstein officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington.
Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Johnson Creek Historical Society or to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Johnson Creek.
