Penny L. Brennecke, 65, of Briggsville, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hunter officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the family. Penny Lynn Booth was born on January 26, 1954 to George “Skip” and Pearl (nee Hammer) in Watertown. She was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. On February 27, 1971, Penny married Gerald “Chubs” Brennecke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Penny worked and retired from Johnson Controls after 30 years. She enjoyed attending church services at St. John’s in Montello and St. Andrew in Middleton. Penny loved spending time with her children and grandsons. Penny loved being outdoors, from gardening or weeding, bird watching or just relaxing on the lake. Family and friends were always welcome to come for a visit. She always enjoyed gambling, a good game of cribbage and her love for her cats – even the strays.
She is survived by her children, Amber (Mike Schmidt) Brennecke of Appleton, and Jay (fiancée Anna Johnston) Brennecke of Middleton, grandchildren, Owen Bain, Abel Bain, Josiah Bain, Jeremiah Bain, Malachi Bain, Ezra Bain, Mason Brennecke, Linus Johnston, Calvin Johnston; siblings, George (Patricia) Booth, Sandra Williamson, Shelby (Ray) Miller, Patricia (Phil) Rhodes; sister in law Bonnie Booth, brother in law Tom (Liz) Brennecke and sister in law Carol Zimmer nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Gerald “Chubs” Brennecke; her parents; brother Larry Booth; brother in laws Garry Williamson and Michael Zimmer and a special nephew Jasper Booth.
