On June, 10, 1939, Dorothy married Myron H. Klug at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. Together, they farmed in Farmington. Dorothy worked as a cook for the Johnson Creek Public Schools for many years. Upon retirement, Dorothy and Myron moved to Johnson Creek. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1989.
Dorothy was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek where she was a faithful and hard working member of St. John's Women of the Church and the church's Circle. She belonged to the Homemakers Club and enjoyed many afternoons playing cards with her Card Club.
Dorothy is survived by her four children and their spouses, Jean (Eugene "Butch") Probst of Watertown, Betty (Dennis) Staude of Jefferson, Mary (Dr. Kenneth) Zelm of Sandusky, OH, Myron W. "Butch" (Jean) Klug of Johnson Creek; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Albert "Bud" (Ardes) Klug and sister-in-law Catherine Klug, all of Jefferson, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in infancy; five sisters and their spouses, Edna (Ernie) Riemer, Millie (Elmer) Moldenhaur, Madeline (Oscar) Messer, Marie (George) Schildbach, and Arlene Smith; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Alice Klug; a brother-in-law, Howard Klug, and a great-grandson, Kyler Holmes.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends as she was a joy to be around.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Marquardt Health Center and Marquardt Hospice for the kind, compassionate care they provided Dorothy.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek with Rev. Matthew Smith-Laubenstein officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek, Marquardt Health Center, or Marquardt Hospice.
