A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 20th at 7 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Pastor Terese Leonhard of Three Pillars Senior Living Communities in Dousman, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. A social gathering will then follow the service at On the Rock on East Gate Drive in Watertown. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association.
Eleanor Mae Lewis was born in Ixonia on May 13, 1924, daughter of Curtis and Irma (Terwedow) Lewis. She was a 1942 graduate of Watertown High School. After high school, Eleanor worked at the former Mid-State Shoe Factory and Lee Edwards Cleaners, both in Watertown. On September 7, 1944, Eleanor married Lloyd A. Reckner at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2009.
She was a member of a quilters group and enjoyed photography, painting, crafts and travel.
Survivors include a son, Steven (Susan) Reckner of North Prairie; a daughter, Janyne Reckner of Dixon, CA; a grandson, Mark (Jennifer) Reckner of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Phyllis Klecker of Watertown and Carol Burhans of Baldwin, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was also preceded in death by her parents.
