Patrick H. Ebert, age 76, of Watertown passed away on Friday evening, March 22, 2013 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at noon at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites performed by the Watertown American Legion Post #189 will be at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Henry Catholic Church, Rainbow Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family. Patrick Henry Ebert was born on July 6, 1936 in Watertown, the son of Raymond and Genevieve (Metzger) Ebert. He attended St. Henry Catholic Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Watertown High School. Pat attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL and graduated with an Associate Degree in Electronics. He was a veteran serving with the US Army in Germany from 1954-1956. On February 1, 1958 he married the former Juanita Bartosch at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. Pat was employed at General Electric in Milwaukee and Morrison, IL, followed by Durant Inc. in Watertown. He was a sales representative for Sentry Insurance in Watertown and the surrounding area for many years. After retiring from Sentry Insurance, Pat was employed by Insurance Service Center in Watertown. He was a life-long member of St. Henry Catholic Church and served as President of the Parish Council. He also served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. Pat was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #189, the Watertown Elk’s Lodge, the Izaak Walton League, the Knights of Columbus, Watertown Boat Club and the Watertown Snowmobile Club. Pat served on the construction committee for Chamberland Park Playground at Riverside Park and was a sponsor and coach for the Sentry Insurance Little League baseball team. Pat was an avid Packers, Brewers, Bucks and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Family always came first in Pat’s life. He was a loving, caring and hard working person who took such pride in his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Watertown, three children, James (Lisa) of Germantown, Susan (David) Dinger of West Salem and Robert (Camila) of Bountiful, UT; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Austen and Aubrielle Ebert; three brothers, Michael (Donna), Thomas (Beverly) and Gerald (Mary) all of Watertown; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, sister Raeann Gruss, brother-in-law Paul Gruss, father and mother-in-law Frank and Gertrude Bartosch, and sister-in-law Louise Dahlke.
