Watertown, WI
Service: March 30, 2019
Patsy A. Swisher
Patsy Ann (Lane) Swisher (of Watertown, Wisconsin), born to Newell Charles and Myrtle (Haskins) Lane on June 9th, 1934, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, on March 23rd, 2019.
She grew up in Chippewa Falls and Baraboo, Wisconsin with her siblings, LeRoy Lane and Leota (Lane) Woodruff.
While in high school, in Baraboo, she worked for the Five and Dime store. That is, until she found a job she loved, at the telephone office. After finishing high school, she moved to New Jersey with her best friend, Pat Gage, and continued to work for the telephone company.
After moving back to Wisconsin, she met and married Joseph L. Swisher. This is when she found the job she loved most, being a mother. This was a fortunate thing because the two of them welcomed eight children; Karen (Andy) Wendt (Watertown, Wisconsin), Patrick (Lori) Swisher (Watertown, Wisconsin), Rusty Swisher (Watertown, Wisconsin), Janice (Thomas) Maasch (New Berlin, Wisconsin), Paul (Katie) Swisher (Watertown, Wisconsin), Amy (Bud) Johnson (Watertown, Wisconsin), Joseph R. Swisher (St. Petersburg, Florida), and Nathan (Matthew) Brisher (Sun Prairie, Wisconsin).
She was a mother, therapist, and compassionate ear to many beyond her own children.
Locals will remember her smiling face and cheerful attitude at Piggly Wiggly (on Main St., in Watertown). After the store closed, she enjoyed keeping busy crocheting blankets, booties, and hats for all of the new members being born in the family.
She was active in her prayer groups and bible studies with her friends at River City Church (formerly Assembly of God) in Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both siblings, grandson Adam Wendt, niece Nancy Woodruff, and many friends and family.
She is survived by all of her children, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
Patsy and her family would like to send their thanks to the DaVita Dialysis center in Watertown for their enduring care and support over the years.
A visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, March 29th at Hafemeister Funeral Home, 611 E. Main St, Watertown and at the church on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service. Funeral Services will be held at River City Church, 21 Pawnee St, Watertown at 11am on Saturday, March 30th.
