Lucille I. Thrams, age 85, of Watertown, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Watertown.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Mark’s Girls Pioneers, St. Mark’s School or Luther Preparatory School. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements. Lucille Ida Huebner was born on Feb. 6, 1930, in Watertown, the daughter of Otto Sr. and Ida (Miller) Huebner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. On June 21, 1953, she married James Albert Thrams at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Lucille had been employed at Luther Preparatory School Piano Monitor in Watertown, Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown. She volunteered as a Poll Worker and Clerk of Elections. Lucille enjoyed furniture re-upholstery and repairing books.
Lucille was a life long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church. She was a very talented seamstress using those skills to teach the girls in St. Mark’s girl pioneers for many years. She was one of the founding leaders of the St. Mark’s Girl Pioneers. She also used her sewing skills helping sew play costumes for Northwestern Prep plays and some of the early uniforms for the Prep Singers. Lucille loved to quilt sewing over 30 quilts for her family and friends. She won several ribbons in quilting competitions and sent three quilts to orphanages in China. She also enjoyed doing counted cross stitch. Lucille also enjoyed gardening canning and cooking, spoiling her husband and family with fabulous meals. Lucille and her husband were also active members of St. Mark’s Owls. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Lucille is survived by her husband James of Watertown, five children; Jerome (Patti) Thrams of Concord, Linda (the Rev. Mark) Sattler of Las Vegas, Nev.; David (Jane) Thrams of Mauston, Gregory (Elizabeth) Thrams of Watertown and Judith Thrams of Citrus Heights, Calif.; twelve grandchildren, Abigail Thrams, Marika Thrams, Taedra Thrams, Jennifer Sattler-Crawford, Nichole (Fred) Baumgartner, Marcia Sattler-Clements, Melissa (Gregory) Wollin, Margaret (Mark) Crowley, Sarah (Justin) Messer, Andrew Thrams, James (Melissa) Thrams and Thomas Thrams and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mabel Kube and Dorthy Dobratz and a brother, Otto Huebner Jr.
