Kenneth Preston Woods, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 4 2016, after his battle with cancer.
He was born on July 30th 1946 in Denver, Colorado, the son of the late Helen (Reiser) and Lyle Preston Woods.
He attended schools in Lead, S.D. and subsequently graduated from Rapid City Central High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country from 1964-1968. He served one tour in Vietnam.
After his service in the Navy, he attained a BS degree from USC Lompoc, California. He subsequently worked for Johns Mansville Corp. He lived in South Dakota, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, and recently settled in Watertown, Wisconsin, where he worked for H&H lighting located in Elmwood IL for 10 years as the National Sales Trainer traveling from coast to coast training hundreds of people.
He is survived by wife Miriam of Seattle WA; most lovingly by sisters, Tanya Carroll (Donald) of Tule Lake, CA; Mary Schmidt (Glenn) of Oconomowoc; Ann Parish (Robert) of Stevens Point; Sue Stai (the late Tom Stai) of Watertown; brother, Christopher Woods (Debbie) of Watertown; very special friend, Dennis Bauman as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and made lots of friends and acquaintances in the Watertown area and every place he lived.
He will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
