The Jaegers farmed the family homestead near Ixonia, Wisconsin until 1987. Georgianne's life revolved around her family and her church. As a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ixonia she was involved in the church choir, altar guild and Ladies Aid, frequently holding various offices. At Lakeside Lutheran High School she was a member of the Ladies' Guild, holding various offices there as well. For many years she volunteered at Twice Is Nice, the resale store in Jefferson that supports Lakeside. At home she nurtured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her life. She loved and excelled at baking, cooking, gardening, and embroidery - all to the delight of her large family. And Georgianne loved music whether it be great Lutheran hymns, old-time waltzes or family sing-a-longs and dancing with Omar.
On April 1, 2016 Georgianne entered the heavenly home prepared, purchased and won for her by the life and death of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, Harold Krueger. In Christian sorrow she also buried her infant son, Charles; adult daughters, Judith Schmidt and Kathleen Melcher; granddaughter, Greta Melcher; great-grandson, Anderson Butzine; and her beloved husband, Omar - each time trusting confidently in God's promise that she would see them again in heaven through salvation in Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Jeffrey) Buchta of Ixonia and Emily Blanchard of Lake Geneva; seven sons, Donald (Marjorie) of Jefferson, Mark (Joyce) of Johnson Creek, Steven (Lois) of Mankato, MN, Richard (Bonnie) of Ixonia, Michael (Kris) of Fort Atkinson, Allen (Tracie) of Tucson, AZ, and John (Tammie) of Watertown; 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sons-in-law Paul Schmidt of Watertown and G. Dean Melcher of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Christian funeral service for Georgianne Jaeger will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Ixonia on Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Ewerdt officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Ixonia.
