Michael “Shootie” V. Seager, age 72, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at his home.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Hafemeister Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Military rites will be conducted at 8:00 p.m by Watertown VFW 3709. Michael Van Seager was born on August 19, 1944 in Watertown, the son of John and Sedonna Seager. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. Shootie served in the United States Army in Germany. On July 2, 1994 he married Cindy Borchardt in the Wisconsin Dells. He had been employed at Norms Sports for 37 years and ITW for 13 years, both in Watertown. After retirement, he worked part time at Midstate Auto in Jefferson. Shootie was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, trap shooting and fishing. He ran “Shootie’s and Little Dick’s Sporting Goods” in Watertown. He loved hanging out with his friends and family. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. Shootie raced at the Beaver Dam Raceway for twelve years. He loved his cats.
Shootie is survived by his wife, Cindy Seager; three children, Mike “Bucko” Seager; Steve (Charlene) Seager and Tammy (Dane) Hartwig, all of Watertown; step-son, Ben (Melissa) Borchardt of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, John Treichel; Steven Graf; Haley Seager; Trevor Seager; Kaleb Hartwig; Bow Hartwig and Dugg Hartwig; step-granddaughter, Carla Borchardt; brother, Steven (Pat) Seager of Watertown as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Henrietta “Hank” Seager.
