John C. Kaercher, 89, of Watertown, passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 15th at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert presiding. Burial, with Graveside Military Rites, will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, in casual attire, on Sunday, April 14th from 4 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Rainbow Hospice, would be appreciated.

John was born in Watertown on September 28, 1923, son of Edward J. and Myrtle (Tinus) Kaercher. On April 12, 1947, he married the former Virginia Fendt at St. Henry Catholic Church. He had served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. John had been employed as a truck driver with the Wolf Truck Line, Allard Express and Clairmount, totaling 42 years. He had also been employed at Grinwald Ford and Ys Way Flooring, both of Watertown.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #189 and of the Izaak Walton League. John enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of Watertown; his four children, Diana (Jim) Frisch of Eagle; John (Susan) Kaercher of Oconomowoc; Joe (Jodi) Kaercher of Watertown; Deborah (Jerry) Zimmerman of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Charles) Jones, Cristina Frisch, Michael (Jackie) Frisch, Valerie (Arik) Steger, Nathan (Kandice) Kaercher, Denise (Paul Dicky) Kaercher, Anthony (Jen) Kaercher; eleven great grandchildren; a half sister, Mary Jane (Peter) Davy of Watertown, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded by his parents; a sister, Arline Baumann; brothers, Donald, Lawrence and Edward G. Kaercher, a half brother, William Kaercher, and his step-mother, Irene Kaercher.
