Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday at noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Lebanon.
Memorials may be directed to the church, Marquardt Memorial Manor or to the charity of one’s choice.
Dorothy Alice Christian was born on Jan. 18, 1929, at home in Lebanon, daughter of John and Linna (Woltman) Christian. On May 1, 1949, she married Marvin Kuenzi at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Dorothy attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Lebanon. She and Marvin farmed in Lebanon for over 43 years. She was also employed as a cook at numerous restaurants in Oconomowoc, Lebanon and Watertown. She also worked as a treasurer and secretary for Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. Dorothy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
Dorothy enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, tending her flowers, playing bingo, and making baby quilts for family and friends. She was an avid collector of cardinals. Dorothy loved spending time with family and friends. She treasured the Christian family reunions and aunts/cousins parties. It was Dorothy’s idea to publish the “Christian Family Cookbook.”
She is survived by her husband Marvin of 65 years; a daughter, Jane (Gary) Prod of Pelican Lake; a son, Allen (Susan) Kuenzi of Johnson Creek. She is also survived by grandsons, Ryan Prod, Derek Prod and Jonathan (Jennifer) Prod; a great-grandson, Max. She is further survived by a brother, Oliver “Ollie” Christian; sisters-in-law, Ada Christian and Anna Christian as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Adolph, Clarence, Harold, Gerhard and Elroy Christian; sisters, Irma Wegner, Ruth Grosenick, Laura Schuett, Leona Schmitz, Linda Kopfer, Meta Groth and Frieda Reichert.
