Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Watertown Moravian Church with Chaplain Jim Wehrheim officiating. Burial will be in the River Road Cemetery in Ixonia. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the Watertown Moravian Church. Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of the service. Marcella June Braatz was born on June 2, 1923 to John and Irma (Martini) Braatz in Ixonia. On June 28, 1947 she married Martin J. Tourbier in Ixonia. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2005. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Watertown for many years and for 22 years she worked as a cook at Watertown Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Watertown Moravian Church and attended Bible study regularly.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sally enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. She liked playing games at Prairie Ridge, and reading.
She is survived by her children: Judy Saniter of Beaver Dam, Jim (Ann) Tourbier of Ixonia, Bonnie Cate of Marshall; seven grandchildren: Gayle (Richard) Thomas of Germantown, David (Julie) Saniter of Beaver Dam, Tyler (Kristin) Cate of Bellville, Maggie Cate of Marshall, Amanda (John) Ristow of Watertown, Adam Tourbier of Ixonia, Eric Tourbier of Madison; seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Sally was further preceded in death by her parents, a son Bruce Tourbier, son-in-law Wayne Saniter, a brother Lester (Arlene) Braatz, and a sister Marian (Clarence) Rohloff.
The family would like to thank Danielle and the staff at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Beaver Dam for the wonderful care they provided for the last eight years of her life.
