Florence L. Buedler, age 92, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Watertown.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will take place at Richwood Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home and on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. John’s Ladies Aid or the charity of one’s choice. Florence Lorraine Schmeling was born on June 14, 1923 in Watertown, the daughter of Frank and Laura (nee Seibel) Schmeling. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School and was a graduate of Watertown High School. On December 15, 1956, she married Hilmer E. Buedler at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Hilmer preceded her in death on July 16, 1978. Florence was blessed with a loving family and special friends and neighbors, which she treasured. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and an honorary member of the St. John’s Ladies Aid. Florence worked at F.W. Woolworth’s and then became a wife and mother, living on the Buedler Family Homestead in the Town of Shields. She was a member of the Farm Bureau. Florence enjoyed embroidery, gardening, baking and cooking. She had a love for animals, especially her beloved Patches. She enjoyed helping out at church with the Ladies Aid.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Sharon Buedler and Diane Buedler of Watertown; sister, Margaret L. Buedler, also of Watertown; sister-in-law, Margaret “Marge” E. Buedler of Beaver Dam as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laura; husband, Hilmer; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Buedler and Clarence Buedler as well as a nephew, Allen Buedler.
The family would like to give a sincere thank you to Dr. Holden, Dr. Basarich and Laurie for their care and kindness. The family would also like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center in Watertown for the special care they gave to Florence.
Florence was a special mother and friend and will be truly missed.
