Jean Brennan, 90, of Watertown, passed away on April 21, 2018 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
Jean M. Dolan was born on November 22, 1927 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Walter and Nora (nee Simon) Dolan. She attended grade school at St. Bernard Catholic School in Watertown and was a 1945 graduate of Watertown High School. On April 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Eugene Brennan. Gene preceded her in death on October 13, 2001. Jean was employed at the Village Blacksmith Office, Watertown Memorial Hospital and retired from Beverly Terrace Nursing Home as a Medicare/Medicaid bookkeeper in 1993. Jean was a member of the Irish Club. She was involved in several card clubs, the Elk’s Auxiliary Society, Rosary and Altar Society, the Watertown Historical Society, Library Club, Watertown Genealogy Society and was a mentor at Douglas School for several years. Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved bird watching, reading, sewing and anything Irish and traveling. Jean also enjoyed the time she spent with Gene roller skating.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Bill (Kathy) Brennan and Jerry (Tara) Brennan; granddaughters, Erin (Shaun) Schlosser, Kerry (Steve) Balzer and Shawna (Dave) Jaeger; grandsons, Jared Brennan and Jacob (Katie) Brennan; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Schlosser, Skyler, Ellie, Miley and Kinley Balzer, Reilly, Reagan and Taryn Jobke, Leighton and Reid Jaeger as well as 29 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was further preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Eileen Marie Brennan at 10 months; great-grandson, Isaac Schlosser (twin of Isaiah); sisters, Mary (Sr. Dorothea) Dolan and Margaret Dolan; brothers, John Dolan in infancy and Tim Dolan as well as niece, Patty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Miroslaw Syznal officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to Marquardt Health Center, Marquardt Hospice, St. Bernard Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
