Mary L. Korth (nee Quest), 85, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Johnson Creek. Family and friends may gather at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to St. Bernard Catholic Church, Marquardt Hospice, or to Bread & Roses in Watertown. Mary Louise Quest was born on September 24, 1932 in Johnson Creek, the daughter of Mark and Helen (nee Schneeberger) Quest. Mary attended grade school at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School in Johnson Creek as well as graduating from Johnson Creek High School. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown where she was a Faith Formation teacher for many years. Mary was also involved with Living Waters Prayer group in Oconomowoc.
Mary worked as a Parent Aid for Jefferson County Humans Services for many years as well as opening up her home for foster care to many. She also worked at the former Welbourne Hall in Watertown.
Her grandchildren were very important to her as well as being a part of their activities. One of her most memorable events in her life was visiting the Vatican in Rome. Mary enjoyed traveling and visited many places including: The Holy Land, Europe, Nova Scotia, New Orleans, Florida, California, Alaska, Colorado, Maine, and the Bahamas. She loved fishing up north on the lake, canning, and flower gardening. Mary was very active and health conscious regularly doing water exercises.
Mary is survived by her five children, Julie Merritt, Steve (Joan) Merritt, Brian (Cathie) Merritt, Heidi (Carl) Schmidt all from Watertown, Helen (Jeff) Stark of Milwaukee; four grandchildren: Emily Merritt, Alex Merritt, Micayla Schmidt, Colton Schmidt; sister Laurie Williams of Fort Atkinson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Donald Quest, Gerald Quest, Robert Quest, Charles Quest, and Irving Quest.
