Lois Marie Bloedorn
Lois Marie Bloedorn, age 90 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 6, 2018.
She was born December 18, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Florence (Schroeder) Beaudoin. As a teenager, Lois worked for Dr. Carlson dental practice. She ran out to do errands one day when she bumped into a classmate, Maybelle Dempski. Maybelle had been wanting Lois to meet her "Uncle Jackie" (John Bloedorn) ever since he had returned from serving in the Army during WWII. On that special day, she introduced them. The rest was history.....
Lois and John married June 16, 1946, on her parents' 25th wedding anniversary, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked alongside him at Kern's Smart Clothes for Men and they eventually owned and operated the shop for over 35 years. The couple had four children (Diane, Peggy, Jane and Bruce) that she loved very much. Lois took pride in the fact that she had been the first in her family to graduate from high school and she instilled the value of education into the lives of her own children. She encouraged them to do the best they could do and worked hard to support their goals and ambitions.

After raising her own family, Lois enjoyed being "Nana" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she often was the first visitor at the hospital when a new baby was born and relayed time and time again, "My family is my whole life".

Lois loved to dance and could regularly be seen pulling people out onto any party's dance floor. She made a mean Old Fashioned, enjoyed card club, and loved to travel. Lois and John were long-time members of Christ United Methodist Church. Her faith remained strong throughout her lifetime. Lois was blessed with good friends from all stages of her life.

She remains close to our hearts and will be greatly missed.
Lois is survived by four children; Diane (Dr. Roy) Nakayama of Honolulu, HI, Peggy (Robert) Michalski of Gilbert, AZ, Jane (John Checki) Sweeney of Watertown and Bruce (Kay) Bloedorn of Middleton, eight grandchildren; Melissa (Harold Soriano) Sweeney, Nic (Nicole) Sweeney, Sarah (Aaron) Kliner-Sweeney, Katelyn (Cole) Meyers, David (Trisha) Nakayama, Dr. John (Marissa) Nakayama, Brooke Bloedorn and Noah Bloedorn, 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Richard Beaudoin, Donny Beaudoin, Virginia Fries, Charlotte Butler, Kathleen Braunschweig; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband John, her parents; great-grandson, Landon Meyers, a sister Rosalie Colletti; brothers: Russell Beaudoin and Douglas Beaudoin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 at noon at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia at a later date. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to Christ United Methodist Women, Rainbow Hospice, or Pitterle-Beaudoin Post # 189. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
The family would like to thank Johnson Creek Cancer Center, Dr. Eastman and all the kind and caring staff Lois grew to love. They also would like to thank Marquardt Home Health, Rainbow Hospice and especially Kari Lato for the compassionate care and friendship she shared.
