Marion L. Johnson, age 84, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Marquardt Health Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. Burial, following cremation, will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Sugar Island. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and Marquardt Health Center. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Marion Louise Wittnebel was born on March 10, 1932 in the Town of Merton, the daughter of Herman and Agnes (nee Rohde) Wittnebel. She was a 1950 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. On February 3, 1951, she married Robert James Johnson at Zion Lutheran Church in Hartford. Robert preceded her in death on March 3, 2013. Marion had been employed at Watertown Bowl 18 prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she served as an Altar Guild. She also volunteered as Sunday school teacher for a number of years at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sugar Island. Marion was a member of the VFW Aux 7852 and DAV Aux 63. She volunteered her time at Marquardt Memorial Manor. Marion enjoyed knitting, baking and doing crafts.
Marion is survived by three children, Kenneth Johnson of Farmington; Kurt (Rhonda) Johnson of Watertown; Kari (Rick) Behnke of McFarland; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Johnson; Kara (Jake) Hagen; Elizabeth Oswald; Payton Behnke; Sarah Johnson; Raymond Behnke; Truman Behnke; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lloyd Bartelt of Delwood, WI as well as nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Agnes; husband, Robert; daughter, Raquel Johnson; sister, Marge Bartelt as well as half-brother, Ike Rohde.
