Dorothy “Dottie” M. Staude, 89, of Watertown, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at UW Health Partners Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1st at 11 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with Pastor Kelly Jahn of the United Methodist Church in Johnson Creek officiating. Entombment will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown and at the Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be given to Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown.

Dorothy Marie Hagen was born in Edgerton, Albion Township, on November 24, 1924, daughter of Oscar and Evelyn (Lindsay) Hagen. She grew up in the Fort Atkinson area was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Oakland.
From 1937 to 1944, Dorothy made her home with foster parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert Woelffer in Waterloo, where she attended schools, graduated from Waterloo High School in 1944 and was an active member at the Methodist Church in Waterloo. Dottie was a graduate of the Vocational School in Watertown.
Dorothy had farmed in York Center north of Marshall, South of Watertown on Witte Lane and later on a farm North of Watertown on Cty. Rd. M.
Dorothy was married to Harvey A. Kottwitz. He preceded her in death. On September 28, 1973, she married Marvin R. Staude at Christ United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2011.
Dottie had been employed as a receptionist for the Dr. Wm. Reed office, Rock River Foods, Montgomery Wards, was a waitress at the Main Café and worked at the former Glen Manufacturing, all of Watertown.
Dottie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and did volunteer work at the Watertown Memorial Hospital and at the Watertown Senior Center, where she was also an active member. Dottie was also a lifetime member of the Plattdeutscher Verein Auxiliary, Morning Circle of Christ Church and a member of the Women of the Moose.
Dottie is survived by her children, Kenneth (Diane) Kottwitz of Fort Worth, TX; David (Debra) Kottwitz of Waupun; Michele (Ralph) Behlke of Watertown; Antonette “Toni” (Ken) Huggett of Watertown; Travis (Laura) Kottwitz of Highland, CA; two step-sons, Donald (Jean) Staude and Roger Staude, both of Muskego; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Dehnert of Neillsville; sisters-in-law, Viola Heiser of Watertown, Myrtle Brum of CA; her special extended family, Karen (Tom) Radtke, Joyce (Mark) Jeffers, Barb (George) Bahn and Sara Kottwitz, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Dottie was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gregory; three grandchildren, Scott, Chad and Michael; her twin sister, Gladys VanLare; a baby sister Yvonne; a sister, Della; her brothers, William and Gordon Hagen and special family members, Herbert Kottwitz and Jeanette (Dennis) Kriewaldt.
