Funeral services will be on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Terry & Rev. Sue Larson officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites provided by the Watertown American Legion Post #189, will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Visitation will be at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be given to Marquardt Hospice, Immanuel Church of Watertown, or the charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Marquardt Memorial Manor for the care and dignity given to Dad over the last 6 months.
Ronald Arthur Nass was born on May 8, 1931 at home in the town of Lebanon, the son of Arthur J. and Elda M. (Zwieg) Nass. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Wisconsin. Ron was a 1950 graduate of the Watertown High School. On February 19, 1955 he married Maxine B. Knorr at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beloit. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2002.
Ron was employed at A. Kramp Co. in Watertown for 40 years as a mechanic, salesman, and owner. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard in 1951-52 and the United States Army in 1953-54 with an honorable discharge. He was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #189, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, The Watertown Elks Club, the Watertown Jaycee’s, and he helped with Meals on Wheels. Ron enjoyed going to the Nass cabin in Birnamwood, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughters, Judy Nass of Milwaukee, Dianne Nass-Krueger (Victor) of Watertown, Christine (Lloyd) Stueber of Watertown, Beth (Gary) Baehmann of Clyman and his son, Todd of Watertown; two grandchildren, Ashley (Mike) Kuhl and Nicholas Nass; 3 great-grandchildren, Cyan Koch, Haley Kuhl and Owen Kuhl; his brothers, Everett (Florence) Nass of Johnson Creek , John “Jack” (Patricia) Nass of Watertown and Arthur (friend Sally) Nass of Sayner, his sister-in-law June Knorr of Watertown, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maxine, of 47 years; a son-in-law, Donn Helmke, and Toby the dog.
