Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun with Rev. Robert Thays officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or Marquardt Hospice. Esther Helena Zuleger was born on February 9, 1922 at her family’s home, the daughter of Albert and Ida (nee Klingbell) Zuleger. Esther was baptized and confirmed in German. On June 8, 1940, she married Clarence Schuett at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2010. Esther was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, being the church’s longest living member. In her younger years, she belonged to the choir and ladies aid. Clarence and Esther lived in Ashippun until moving to Watertown in 2005. Esther enjoyed sewing and loved cooking and canning. She especially loved to bake and donated many bakery goods to church functions. Her family especially enjoyed her cookies and coffee cakes.
Esther is survived by one son, Robert (Carole) Schuett; two daughters, Elaine (Dallas) Grosenick; Kathryn (Randy) Moldenhauer; seven grandchildren, Annette (fiancé Matthew Dunbar) Schuett; Daniel (Penny) Schuett; Michael Grosenick; Mark (Dana) Grosenick; Brian (Carrie) Grosenick; Angela Moldenhauer; Jeffrey (friend Courtney) Moldenhauer as well as two step-grandchildren, Heather Haines; Heidi (Dennis) Westfall. She is further survived by twelve great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Esther was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ida; husband, Clarence; granddaughter, Tami Campbell; six brothers: Ernst, Leonard, Karl, Herbert, Edward and Arthur as well as six sisters: Agnes, Amanda, Betty, Adelhide, Lenora, Gertrude.
