Wilbert “Bill” A. Pieper, of Hustisford, passed away May 4, 2018 at the age of 95 years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon with Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial will take place at Hustisford Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church from noon until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rainbow Hospice inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, or the charity of one’s choice. Wilbert A. Pieper was born April 3, 1923 in Hustisford, the son of August and Ida (nee Leitzke) Pieper. He was baptized on April 23, 1923. He married the former Mabel Christian on August 18, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Bill enjoyed all his years of hard work, farming with his wife at his side. He retired in 1978, when he sold the farm to Richard and Gloria Hafemeister. Since then, they’ve stepped down and their son, David took over. Bill would walk 3 times a day and his stop was always at the farm to give a helping hand. He also cherished all the time with nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mabel of Hustisford; a daughter, Pamela of Clearview in Juneau; a sister, Wilma Otte, of Slinger; sister-in-law, Marles Pieper of Hustisford. Bill is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Leonard and Edna (nee Kronitz) Christian; two brothers, Herold Pieper and Wallace Pieper; sister, Verna Lechner; sister-in-law, Lillian Pieper; and brothers-in-law Roy Lechner and Dale Otte.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek for their compassionate care.
