Cheryl M. Tessmann
Cheryl M. Tessmann, age 56, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 8, 2012, at University Hospital in Madison, following a short, but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon with Rev. John Kelling officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Life 102.5 WNWC Radio or Caringbridge.org. The family would like to thank UW Hospital Madison staff for their care and support.

The former Cheryl Mae Madaus was born on May 11, 1955 in Columbus, the daughter of Otto and Clara (Helwig) Madaus. Cheryl was a 1973 graduate of the Columbus High School. On September 30, 2000 she was married to Todd Tessmann at Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus. Cheryl had been employed as a program coordinator at WPPIenergy in Sun Prairie.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid Brewer fan and sports fan.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Todd of Watertown; two children, Andrea Kuipers and Matthew Kuipers, both of Madison; two grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Kuipers; a brother, Melvin (Betty) Madaus of Marshall; two sisters, Joan Duffy of Madison, Elaine (Jerry) Derr of Columbus and Cheryl’s father and mother- in-law, Armin (Shirley) Tessmann of Watertown a brother in law; Jack (Debbie) Tessmann of Wichita, KS, and a sister in law, Carrie (Barney) Snyder of Scandinavia, WI, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Margaret M. Adam on April 22, 2012.
