Lenora Emma Minna (Rose) Jaeger
Lenora Emma Minna (Rose) Jaeger, 102, of Lebanon, met her Savior on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
Lenora was born in Clyman on September 21, 1911, daughter of Oscar and Martha (Bonau) Rose. She was welcomed into the body of Christ through Holy Baptism, October 22, 1911 at the home of her parents. The Rev. August Kirchner of Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford officiated. On November 9, 1924, she renewed her baptismal vows on her confirmation day at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon. Her sponsors were Emma Bonau (grandmother), Wilhelmine Rose (grandmother) and Herman Rose (uncle).
Lenora attended Alderly Public School, Lebanon Public School and graduated from Lebanon Parochial School.
She met Harley Jaeger in grade school and married him on September 23, 1934. They shared 63 wonderful years together. They farmed the family farm for 44 years and raised three daughters.
Lenora was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon, the Lebanon Ladies, the Immanuel Women of the Church and was a former AARP member. She was sponsor for Aryllis Petersen, Warren Tietz and Robert Zautner.
She loved gardening, crocheting, baking, cooking, playing cards, polka music, crossword puzzles and traveling.
Lenora is survived by her children, Audrey Scharp of Watertown; Sharon (Mel) Grulke of Hustisford; Bonnie Jaeger of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Lynda (Larry) Neigel, Daniel (Greta) Scharp, Sheryl (Todd) Scott, David (Charity) Grulke, Rebekah (Willie) Tollard; ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley on November 3, 1997; a brother, Merlin Rose and his wife, Lorraine; a son-in-law, Herman Scharp; her in-laws, Edward and Angela Jaeger and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ruben and Valeska Tietz.
Funeral services for Lenora will be held on Thursday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Lenora will be laid to rest at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14th from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made in memory of our wonderful mom to the Immanuel Lutheran Elevator Fund, Rainbow Hospice Care, 1225 Remmel Drive, Johnson Creek or to the charity of one’s choice.
