Gerardo Abel Marroquin was born in Monterrey, Mexico on February 9, 1956, the son of Oscar and Graciela (Medina) Marroquin. He was a 1975 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Chicago, IL. He then attended DeVry University graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. On May 12, 1984, he married Maria Pacheco in La Sra de la Esperanza. Gerardo was employed at Enerpac in Columbus.
He was a loving and dedicated family man. Gerardo was always willing to help a friend or stranger in need. He loved to travel. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lake Mills.
Gerardo is survived by his wife, Maria Marroquin of Johnson Creek; daughters, Grace (Adam Riddle) Marroquin of Madison, WI; Gabby (Michael Dominguez) Marroquin of Madison, WI; his mother, Graciela Marroquin. He is further survived by a grandson Kohen Weber and his mother Leanna Woods. He is also survived by brothers; Oscar (Char) Marroquin, Hector (Veronica) Marroquin, Pablo (Megan) Marroquin; a sister, Neca (Ricardo) Tellez; a special uncle Raul; best friend, Rudy (Judy) Hernandez; as well as nieces and nephews.
Gerardo was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Marroquin; a brother, Xavier; and a special uncle Mundo.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Father David Wanish officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
