Dennis J. Walsh, 84, of Clyman, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Dennis John was born on June 11, 1932 to Raphael and Rose Walsh. He attended grade school at the one-room school house on Wilson Road in Clyman, graduating from Watertown High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Lillich on May 5, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Church in Clyman. Betty preceded him in death on March 8, 2005. Together they raised five wonderful children. Dennis was a hard-working man, always putting his family first. He farmed at the home farm for many years. He worked many jobs to provide for his family, finishing his career at Provimi Veal driving semi to deliver feed. He retired in 1999 to spend time with and care for his wife Betty. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports- football, basketball, volleyball, softball and wrestling. He was proud of his family and all their wonderful accomplishments. He was very strong in his faith knowing that God would always provide.
Denny is survived by his children, Dan (Evonne) Walsh; Diane Haseleu; daughter-in-law, Carla Walsh and Jeff (Margie) Walsh; grandchildren, Travis (Andrea) Walsh; Katie (Tyler Parpart) Haseleu; Alissa (Jon) Knudson; Jeremiah (Danielle) Walsh; Jason (Callie Knaeble) Walsh; Emily (Andrew Perkins) Walsh; Meghan Walsh; Courtney Walsh; Hannah (Jake Gresbach) Walsh; Jack Walsh and Abby Walsh; great-grandchildren, Owin and Aliviah Walsh and Mercedes Parpart; sister-in-law, Frances Walsh as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Betty Walsh; sons, Kevin and Brian Walsh; grandchildren, Jacob and Sadie Walsh; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Walsh, Lawrence and Barbara Walsh and Tom and June Walsh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Henrietta Lillich as well as brother-in-law, Jack (Marilyn) Lillich He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was looking forward to the graduation of his grandchildren, Courtney from college and Jack from high school. He was also looking forward to the wedding of his grandson, Jason to Callie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Hafemeister Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. In honor of of Denny’s commitment and joy in saying the rosary, a Rosary Service will be said at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman with Father Mike Erwin officiating with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Isadore Catholic Cemetery in Clyman. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Rainbow Hospice, MS Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
