Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown, with the Rev. David Groth officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
The visitation will be Friday at the Hafemeister Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donald’s name may be directed to Good Shepherd Church or to Marquardt Hospice.

Donald August was born in Rome, WI on August 20, 1925, son of Robert and Lillian (Wagner) Vinz. He served in the United States Army and received a sharp shooter medal. On March 31, 1945 he married the former Frances Sterwald at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun.
He was a dairy farmer in Clyman for 35 years until his retirement.
Don enjoyed spending time with his children and their families.
He also enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting and fishing with his sons and daughters. Don got most of his game with the first shot.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Juneau Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Frances of Watertown; eight children, Phyllis Vinz of Watertown; Linda (Dave) Fosdal of Watertown; Diana (Kenneth) Stock of Juneau; Richard (Therese) Vinz of Horicon; Susan (Rick) Ghislain of Watertown; Larry (Kathy) Vinz of Beaver Dam; Scott (Connie) Vinz of Watertown and Brian Vinz of Lowell; his grandchildren; Joseph (Jessica), Jason (Sarah), Jenny, Sarah (Matt), Rebecca, Julia (Chris), Adam, Corey (Ashley), Casey (Ashley, Stephanie (Jeff), Heather, Patricia, Nathan, Galen, Abby, Gwen (John), Nathan, Justin, Jessica; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Walter) Eske of Watertown; Janice (Lyle) Mantz of Slinger; a brother, Robert Vinz of Juneau, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Don in death were his parents and his sisters and brothers, Loretta Magyar, Edwin, Marvin, Darlene Salas, Joyce Mueller and Carol Neuman.
