Lyle H. Allen, 78, of Watertown, was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 29, 2015 from the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Anthony Schultz and Rev. Mark Gartner officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #189, will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the church or to Rainbow Hospice.
Lyle Hough Allen was born on October 20, 1936 in Waukesha the son of Thaddeaus and Margaret (McMahon) Allen. At an early age he was taken from his family and placed in Yesterdays Children center in Sparta for 7 years. He then moved in with Hoff family in New Lisbon until he graduated High School there. After graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps. Lyle then worked for Wis-Pak in Watertown for 30 years as a semi-driver. On June 13, 1998 he married Delores (Blank) at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
He was a member St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and also of American Legion Post # 189 in Watertown. Lyle loved golfing, going up north, and fishing with his nephew Steve Jones.
Lyle is survived by his wife Delores Allen of Watertown; children: Karen (David) Radke of Lake Mills and their daughter Ariana; Scott (Sheryl Green) Allen of Minnetonka, MN and his son Justin; Linda (Dan) Schuhmacher of Janesville and their children: Kia, David, Eric, Alexis, Joshua, and Abreanna; step-children: Darin (Becky) Wagoner of Clyman and his daughters: Jessica, Emily and Katy; Lynn Preston of Watertown and her sons Tyler and Austin; four great-grandchildren; his siblings: Jim, Bobby, Dale, Darlene, Billy, LaVerne, Mary; and his best friend and beloved dog Skittles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Donny, Ted, Sherman, and Marlene.
Lyle was loved dearly by everyone he knew.
