Virginia Elizabeth Dobbratz, Parrish, Florida passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the age of 91.
Virginia was born in Helenville, Wisconsin on March 27, 1925 to William and Elizabeth Hoeft. She resided in the Helenville/Jefferson area and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1943. Virginia enjoyed and lettered in several sports.
Virginia Hoeft married Herman Dobbratz, a WWII pilot on July 21, 1945. They resided in Bakersfield, California until the end of the war. They moved to Watertown and she continued living there after her husband passed away. In October 2015, she relocated to Florida. Virginia leaves one daughter Patti Lipski and one son Dennis (Pat) Dobbratz, who both reside in Florida. She also leaves granddaughter Laurie (Rob) Gaines, and great-grandchildren Jack and Claire Gaines; and grandson Rob (Tracy) Lipski.
Virginia had many friends in Watertown; she worked at A & P Food Store for 25 years and was General Manager at HWY 26 Laundry for 25 years. They cherished the many summers spent at Camp Rubidell in their camping trailer. She loved the beach and had annual trips to Sanibel Island, Florida. Collecting shells and shopping were high on the list of things she loved. For twenty years Fluffy, her poodle, provided much joy.
Virginia leaves behind sister-in-lawís Marie Dobbratz, Watertown and Ruth Dobbratz, Madison and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her death were brothers and wives Lester (Leona) Hoeft and Merlin (Lorraine) Hoeft.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at Hafemeister Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 3 PM followed by the memorial service at 4 PM. Pastor Rodney Warnecke, St. Johnís Lutheran church will conduct the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.
