JOHNSON CREEK — Richard D. “The Boss” Rue, 63, of Johnson Creek, passed away with his family at his side, on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
In honor of his wishes there will be no service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the family.
Richard David Rue was born on Oct. 16, 1948, the son of Richard Oscar Rue and Ursula Helen (Brandt) Rue in Fort Atkinson.
Rick was a 1966 graduate of Fort Atkinson High School and then served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Carnation Company in Jefferson for 20 years and also as an electrician and carpenter.
Rick’s family was very important to him. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Green Bay Packers and his dogs.
Survivors include his best friend and love of his life, Sue Statz-Burrow; three children, Richard (Ann) Rue of Monument, Colo., Michelle (Mike Miller) Rue-Miller of Jefferson and Mary (Richard) Schuett of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Sharon Ursula Rue, Brandon Richard Rue, Nicole Ann Rue and Brittany Michelle Rue; one sister, Sandy (Wayne) Hasel of Fort Atkinson; his godson, Wayne Hasel Jr.; a niece, Miranda Beth Hasel; along with aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vicky Lynn Rue, in infancy.
The family would like thank Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek and their exceptional staff, for the wonderful care they provided to Rick.
He will be forever in our hearts; gone, but not forgotten.
