Doris Irma (Schultz) (Spoehr) Underwood passed to eternity on March 16, 2019.
She was born on September 15, 1938 to Emil and Bertha (Kaczor) Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Watertown High School. She was employed at Glen Manufacturing and spent many years at Brandt as a machine operator. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables. She canned much of her produce.
Doris married Elmer “Junior” Spoehr on October 9, 1965. They enjoyed fishing and were successful filling their freezer. Elmer “Junior” passed away suddenly in 1981. Five or six years later she married Thomas Underwood. They had many common interests during their 20 plus years together. He passed away five years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Ernie Schultz; sister-in-law, Shirley Schultz; nieces, Anna Lee (John) Horzen, Linda (Michael) Grzeca, Betty May, Carol May; nephew, Leroy May; many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn (Schultz) May; brothers, Raymond Schultz, Robert Schultz, Herbert Schultz; nephew, David May. Her mother Bertha (Kaczor) Schultz died in 1947, and her father Emil in 1958. She was loved by many aunts and uncles, all preceding her in death.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home with Rev. David Phillips officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
