Vanita Adela Turke was born on November 20, 1921 in the Town of Ixonia, the daughter of Louis and Adela (nee Schuett) Turke. She was baptized right after birth. On November 4th, 1934, Vanita was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. She was married by Rev. Bloede to Martin J. Schramm on July 15, 1945 at Immanuel. Martin preceded her in death on December 4, 1988. She was a member of Immanuel church all her life. She was a former member of the Immanuel Ladies Aid and Immanuel Church Choir.
Blessed by four children, Donna (Jim) Hrobsky of Watertown; twin sons Stanley (Sue) Schramm of Watertown; Stuart (Deborah) Schramm of Ixonia; Delmar (Debbie) Schramm of Watertown; nine grandchildren: Brian Hrobsky, Keith (Kendra) Hrobsky, Kristin Schramm, Dustin Schramm, Stephanie (Rev. David) Olson, Stacy (Noah) Eckl, Rachel (fiancé Chris Scannell) Schramm, Jessica (Brad) Thomas and Lucas Schramm. She is further survived by great grandchildren: Haley, Joey, twins Will and Alli, Sophia, Madelyn, Charlie, twins Ashlyn and Nolan, and Emmerson; sisters-in-law: Meta Turke, Frieda Turke, Marion Schramm and Micky Maas, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Vanita was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Adela; husband, Martin; brothers, Arthur (Dorothea) Turke, William Turke, Armund Turke, Lester (Sylvia) Turke; sisters, Lorena (John) Wenzler, Hilde (Irv) Henkel and Lydia (Martin) Raether, siblings in infancy, John and Frieda. She was further preceded in death by her parents-in-law Herman and Adela (nee Braunschweig) Schramm.
