Irene E. Hohman, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Agrace Hospice in Madison.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 18, at 12:30pm at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Todd Iverson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 11:30am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or to Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Irene Elora Hohman was born on March 3, 1927, in Greenwood, the daughter of Fred and Luella (nee Sharp) Clintsman. She attended school in the Greenwood School District and later Eau Claire and Whitewater Universities. On August 3, 1948, she married Willis Hohman. Irene taught for over 36 years at schools in Willard, Independence, Arcadia, Rome, Farmington and Johnson Creek. She was active in her church and community. She was a member of AARP 3717, Jefferson Retired Educators, Watertown Senior Center and Friends of the Watertown Hospital. Irene volunteered at Rainbow Hospice and Watertown Hospital, helped out at the Watertown Food Pantry and Bread and Roses and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher. She also was a mentor and a driver for Fish. She enjoyed crafting, nature, walking, reading, travel and time with friends and family. Irene was always willing to help anyone.

She is survived by daughters Linda (Elroy) Bowitz, Lisa (Rick) Berni and Rebecca (Michael) Roth; grandchildren Erik Bowitz, Laura Bowitz, Kathryn (David) Schlotthauer, Kristin Roth and Melissa Roth; sisters Nell (Jim) Goetz; Shirley (Ray) Kurth and Marie Thompson; brother Ted Clintsman, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter and brother Dale Clintsman.
