Ann M. Lang, 76, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah on Friday afternoon, June 7, 2019, after a lengthy and courageous battle with COPD.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown with Fr. Patrick Wendler officiting. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Innichement will be at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Ann Marie (nee Scheidel) Lang was born on November 22, 1942 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and was the daughter of John and Lucille (nee Herman) Scheidel. She married Frederick F. Lang at St. Clement's Catholic Church in Sheboygan on June 10, 1961, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Fred preceded Ann in death in November of 2011.
Ann graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1961. In 1971, Ann and Fred moved to Watertown, Wisconsin where she and Fred continued to raise their two children, Debby and Fred. Ann was an excellent homemaker and cook, and put her culinary skills to use as a cook in the Watertown Unified School District in 1978, celebrating 25 years of service in that field in 2003. She retired in 2005.
Ann was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Watertown Elk’s Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, walking, and spending time with her friends and family. She had recently moved to Neenah to be closer to family. Ann was a devoted friend and a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She was a strong woman of faith, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Debby Lindqwister of Las Vegas, NV; son, Fred (Jane) of Neenah; four grandchildren, Andy (Katie Garth) Lang, Jon (Amy) Lang, Sarah Lang, David Lang; great-grandchild, Clark. She is further survived by her brother in law John (Ginny) Lang of Sheboygan, brother John Scheidel, sisters Susie Kramer and Amy Scheidel. She was preceded in death by her parents.
