Joyce A. Timmel, 85, of Farmington, passed away peacefully with her special granddaughter, Jody, by her side, on Monday, June 17, 2013, at her recent home, Zinzendorf Hall.
Joyce Agnes Schroeder was born in the Town of Farmington on January 9, 1928, daughter of Alvin and Frieda (Klug) Schroeder. She graduated from the Johnson Creek High School in 1945. Joyce's firstemployment was at Ladish Malt Company, Jefferson Junction, for six years. On May 27, 1950, Joyce married Ernst H. Timmel at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown. Ernst preceded her in death on November 21, 1987.
She, along with her husband, operated 'Timmel’s Shell Service/Hwy 30 Bar' located on Hwy 30 & Hwy P. Later, Joyce worked at the former Sears Roebuck Company in Watertown. She also volunteered at Lakeside Lutheran High School , and sewing at Beverly Terrace (presently, the Golden Living Center) in Watertown. She served on the Ixonia Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery Board. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia and a member of their Ladies Aid, serving as past secretary. Joyce enjoyed the fellowship at Bible classes at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia and at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.

Mom will be fondly remembered for her persistence, strength and determination, knowing that her Lord and Saviour was always with her. There wasn't a project she feared to tackle. She showered her family with unending love and homemade treats of apple and raspberry pies, her fabulous kranz kuchen and Nick's favorite oatmeal cookies!

Survivors include two sons, Randall (Cindy) of Sun Prairie; Thomas (Pamela) of Lebanon; her two daughters, Jane O’Brien of Union Grove; and Gail (Larry) Bellman of Hartland; Ten grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Timmel; Elizabeth (Jeremy) Schmitz; Kim (Brian) Peck; Koreen (Aric) Mindemann; Christopher (Hannah) Timmel, Jody (Robert) Goodle; Kyle (Laura) O'Brien; Michael O'Brien, Nicholas Bellman and Kasey Bellman; Step-grandson, Daniel Bellman along with 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Reichert of Johnson Creek; a sister-in-law, Carol Timmel of Watertown, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Schroeder; two stillborn grandchildren, Jason & Kassandra Bellman; nephews, Timothy Timmel and Timothy Wollin; brothers-in-law, Lester Reichert, Clarence Timmel and Edwin Timmel; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, John & Alice Pernat; and her parents-in-law, August & Alma Timmel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21st at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia, with the Pastor Allen Tetzlaff officiating. Burial will take place in the Ixonia Ev. Lutheran Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ixonia Ev. Lutheran Cemetery Association, St. John's Mission Fund, Lakeside Building Fund, or the charity of one's choice, would be appreciated.
