Donald H. Buss, age 83 of Watertown, passed away on Friday evening at Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 25, 2015 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia with military graveside rites performed by the Watertown American Legion Post #189. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service. Memorials in honor of Donald may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Donald Herbert Buss was born in September 17, 1931 in Watertown the son of Herbin D. and Erna B. (Justmann) Buss. He was married to Marilyn Platz on January 16, 1956 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. She preceded him in death on May 21, 1986. On November 26, 1987 he married Jacinta Alvarez at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Donald was a member of the US Army. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. He was also a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #189, the Watertown VFW Post #3709, the Turner Hall Association and the Plattdeutscher Verein both in Watertown. Donald enjoyed reading and fishing. He was a Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewer and Wisconsin Badger fan. He loved dancing with his wife Jacinta.
Donald is survived by his wife Jacinta of Watertown; six children; Debra Himm of CA, Sharon (Rev. David) Laabs of Kiel, Denise (Rev. Terry) Laabs of Burlington, Steven Buss of Sitka, AK, Diane Buss of Watertown, Sandra (Dave) Binder of Marietta, GA, three step-children; Chilo (Lisa) Alvarez of Spanish Fort, AL., Yolanda Virtil of Watertown and Maria Alvarez of Fort Atkinson, one sister, Karen (John) Parlow of Racine, eleven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marilyn on May 21, 1986 and a sister Nancy Menke.
